Let the festivities begin in Wantage!

Wantage Christmas Markets

Shop local every Sunday at the Wantage Christmas Markets in Wantage Marketplace and the surrounding streets. There will be a variety of gift stalls, live music and hot food and drink with a fun festive atmosphere in which to get your Christmas presents or just enjoy the hustle and bustle with a warming mulled wine.

Christmas at Blenheim Palace

The illuminated trail makes a welcome return to Blenheim Palace, transforming England’s finest view with a bright and magical winter walk like no other. Inspired by the landscape itself, visitors embark on a winterland adventure, dramatically illuminated with stunning lights while wandering under magical tree canopies drenched in seasonal colour, snowflakes, stars, baubles and a scented fire garden that adorns the Water Terrace. It is an extravaganza of festive light and there will be street food vendors selling delicious treats with a twist. Tickets must be booked in advance.

Celebrate creativity

Until Wednesday 23rd Dec and then opening again in January, a Christmas and New Year Arts & Crafts Show is being held by West Ox Arts, a local not for profit group that promotes art appreciation in the area. At their Bampton Gallery you can find all sorts of unusual and delightful range of artistic gifts, again a wonderful option for that hard to shop for family member or friend. It is open Tuesday - Saturday 11.30am - 4.30pm and Sundays 2-4pm in the pretty Market Square in Bampton

Waddesdon Manor Christmas Fair

A Christmas shopping experience not to be missed set against the fairy tale back drop of Waddesdon Manor with a huge array of produce and gifts among the 70 stall holders. The fair is on until Wednesday 23 December and with the Winter Light Trail, there will also be some spectacular festive illuminations to enjoy while you are there. A wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit.
