    Neighbourhood

    Living in Brockenhurst

    Although it boasts a 100-year-old football club and 200-year-old cricket club, both still popular, these days Brockenhurst is a magnet for cyclists and hikers, who hop off the train to begin the many trails and routes around the New Forest. As a result, the village is amply served for tea rooms and dining options, and has plenty of independent retailers for groceries and other necessities. The surrounding towns and villages of Beaulieu, Lymington, Lyndhurst and Buckler’s Hard are equally picturesque and rewarding to explore. 

    On your doorstep

    It’s a short stroll to all the shopping and amenities you need on the high street, or out into the enchanting wilderness of the New Forest. The nearest city is Southampton, 13 miles to the north-east, while Bournemouth is also nearby, 15 miles south-west. The train station has regular services to London in well under two hours and Bournemouth in just 20 minutes, or you can take the branch line to Lymington Harbour and catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight.
