    Living in Marlborough

    This cosmopolitan town is steeped in history and thronging with societies and events throughout the calendar, from its Literature Festival to the famous Marlborough Mops. Saturdays and Wednesday are market days for stocking up on everything from locally produced meat and vegetables, to plants, pashminas and pottery. In the summer you could enrol in one of a wide range of weekly courses offered by the Marlborough College Summer School, and learn a new skill in the idyllic setting of one of England's most beautiful and prestigious independent schools.

    A ten minute stroll and you’re in town, with all the amenities you could possibly need. For more retail therapy, you can drive to Swindon in under half an hour. Around an hour away, either along the old Bath Road, which runs through town, or via the M4, and you can be enjoying the diversions of Bath, or the attractions of Bristol. It’s also just a little over an hour by road to Heathrow airport. Nearby train stations at Great Bedwyn and Pewsey can be reached in as little as 15 minutes, from where fast trains will take you to London in a little over an hour.
