This unique community nestles in the middle of a Georgian harbour town full of beautiful buildings and cobbled streets, bathed in amazing coastal light that has drawn artists here for centuries. Independent thinkers love this place too, and anyone who could gaze out to sea for hours on end. With the New Forest and the glories of the South Coast so temptingly close, expect to spend many days exploring, with many welcome returns to your peaceful haven of a home.
Designed by the multi-award-winning David James Architects, the homes are designed with clean lines and a feeling of spaciousness, around a light-filled communal lounge and kitchen, from which you can wander out at your ease onto the shared garden terrace and landscaped garden.
The spacious and elegantly-decorated communal lounge opens out onto a shared garden terrace which overlooks the lovely manicured gardens. It lends itself to so many uses: cheese and wine evenings with neighbours and friends, the perfect spot for a catch-up over a pot of tea, or somewhere to while away a quiet afternoon with a puzzle or a good book.
In such a picturesque town, only the very loveliest garden would do. The artfully landscaped grounds at Lymington Gate are full of winding pathways, fragrant shrubberies, and lots of places to sit and enjoy the mild South Coast climate.
The town attracts a wealth of visitors all year round, so when your family or friends come to see you, how wonderful it is to be able to book them into the on-site guest suite, with its luxurious decor and ensuite bathroom.
As well as organising a regular calendar of social events, our team has a knack for making residents feel looked-after and understood. If you need help with practical issues or just fancy a friendly chat, or word of advice: they’re there to support you, in any way they can.
Life in Lymington
Residents and the town’s many visitors enjoy the boutiques and a carefree café culture that benefits from the fresh sea air and milder South Coast climate. The beautiful New Forest is just up the road, as is the Solent Way coastal path: for the twitcher, the birdlife of Keyhaven Marshes is a must, and for the historian there’s Henry VIII’s magnificent Hurst Castle. As for keen sailors, the world-famous Royal Lymington Yacht Club offers competitive yachting, dinghy sailing and motor boating.
Conveniently on your doorstep
You are a less-than-five-minute stroll to a pharmacy, GP surgery and M&S, and less than a mile from the station, with rail links to nearby Bournemouth and Poole, and trains to London in under 2 hours. Or hop on the car ferry from Lymington Pier and you can cross the Solent for the nostalgic charms of the Isle of Wight in only 40 minutes.
