Boutique inspired living in the countryside

Our Wharf Lane community is set in one of the prettiest riverside villages in Buckinghamshire and with Bourne End often being described as the crown jewel of the county, the interior design of our new homes needed to reflect the elegancy of its surrounds.

We spoke with Rebecca Harris at Dapa Interiors who created the warm and welcoming interiors of this new community in Bourne End.

Can you tell us a bit more about Dapa Interiors?

Since Dapa Interiors’ inception in 2009, we have worked with retirement and non-retirement housing developers on mid to high end projects across London and the home counties. From London penthouses to five bed beautiful family homes, we take a tailor-made approach to designing the interiors of homes with the end occupier in mind. Our ethos is to invent, re-invent and always create and with a diverse creative design team and a strong operations team, we take pride in ensuring constant new and inspirational show homes that always meet our clients’ launch dates.

What inspired your interior design of our Wharf Lane community?

Bourne End is situated nearby the River Thames and set in a beautiful countryside location in Buckinghamshire. We selected finishes to connect with the surroundings and to create a feeling of warmth and vibrancy at the same time to enhance the living environment for the new homeowners and renters.

What have you enjoyed most about working on this project?

The Lifestory team have been great from the beginning through to completion. In addition, the build is that of a boutique and elegant hotel/country home which helped set the tone from the get-go, creating a strong and instinctive path to our design direction. 

What interior design trends can we expect to see this year, have you any top design tips for new owners?

As we are all currently spending more time at home, there is a trend towards a more relaxed and comfortable home to be more functional than ever.

Bringing the outside in to connect with nature is another trend we are seeing, and this can be achieved with beautiful foliage alongside a feeling of light and vibrancy via good lighting and inspiring artwork, fabrics and natural finishes of woods, marbles and rattan.

With a balance of rich and warm tones with accents of freshness, adding bold and creative accessories to enhance, all these things very much create a feeling of wellbeing which is in the forefront for many.
