Despite months of lockdown, developer PegasusLife, part of Lifestory Group, has completed construction on The Vincent in Bristol’s Redland District. The beautifully refurbished Queen Victoria House is now ready to welcome new owners to join the vibrant community that already exists in the brand-new terraces designed by award-winning architects, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris.
To safely continue construction through recent months PegasusLife introduced a system of Covid Marshalls to ensure government safety guidelines were followed, which has enabled the completion. Now complete the development comprises 64 one, two- and three-bedroom later living apartments distributed between the refurbished Queen Victoria House and two regency style terraces all benefiting from an extensive range of exclusive owner facilities.
Mike Gill, Regional Managing Director of Lifestory North & Midlands commented: “We took the decision to keep the site live during lockdown and introduce a careful system of Covid Marshalls who worked closely and flexibly with the 90 construction workers on site. Not only were we able to complete construction but our construction teams, many of whom live locally, were able to continue in employment throughout. It is fantastic to not only be part of the community by providing new homes but also to be able to bring more employment opportunities to the area.
“Despite the pandemic, interest in the homes at The Vincent has remained high with 25% of the homes having been sold or reserved since the reactivation of the property market. As such, it was even more important for us to complete construction on time. The first owners are due to start moving into their new home in Queen Victoria House in August and we wouldn’t have been able to have the homes ready if it wasn’t for the commitment of the fantastic site team who have been working efficiently whilst staying safe and adhering to many new rules and regulations we had to implement. As we welcome more owners to their new homes, we will be looking to recruit, also locally, the onsite teams of managers and up to a dozen staff who will help owners make the most of life at The Vincent.”
Queen Victoria House was originally built in 1886 and has been sympathetically refurbished to preserve its rich heritage and accentuate its unique period features with the Victorian influence extending to the design of the newly built terraces. The historic clock face at the front of the building was cleaned and polished and on the top floor, the intricate internal workings have been revealed creating a stunning focal point in the communal space. The Grade II Listed obelisk, erected by past owner of the then Vincent Lodge, Jacob Wilcox Rickets in commemoration of Charlotte Augusta, Princess of Wales still stands in the well-cultivated grounds at the heart of the development.
The Vincent will offer owners a fantastic array of services including an elegant owners lounge, a café and restaurant in Queen Victoria House, a gym and stretch studio complete with a spa and hydrotherapy pool.
Prices at The Vincent start from £399,999. To find out about life at The Vincent please call the team on 0117 981 4352 or email [email protected]k.
