Just a short walk away from our wonderful community, The Vincent, lies one of Bristol’s most up and coming culinary areas. Chandos Road is truly a treasure trove of culinary adventures, so next time you are looking to diversify from chain restaurants then why not venture down Bristol’s road of foodie wonders?
- Snobby’s is a quaint wine bar and restaurant offering casual Italian dining and small plates in an intimate space. Picture dark wooden tones and comfy casual bench seating lined with pillows. This relaxed atmosphere along with the aroma of freshly baked pizzas and deep fried arancini will have you thinking you’ve been transported to the streets of Rome. Don’t forget to check out their latest wine selection, their carefully curated shelves of delicious, value orientated wines from across the globe will not disappoint.
- If you were to then take a mere 1 minute walk north you would find yourself at the doorstep of Wilson’s Restaurant. Don’t be fooled by its modest exterior, this independently owned and run bistro serves up some exquisitely unique dishes showcasing the best of the food reared and grown in the local surroundings, including items from their own market garden on the outskirts of Bristol. There is a 4-course set menu which changes frequently depending on the ingredients available on the day, ensuring the freshest quality produce possible. Sustainability is truly at the heart of Wilsons and they endeavour to work with and support producers, growers and traders that use ethical and low impact methods.
- Joining the impressive ranks of Chandos Road is the latest newcomer, a restaurant from Stephen Gilchrist and Kathryn Curtis called Otira. Launched at the end of August, this refreshingly new establishment is set to be a showstopper. In traditional Maori folklore OTIRA means food for your journey and the restaurants namesake is also in fact a small town in the South Island of New Zealand from which the restaurant gets the inspiration for its food. New Zealand owner and chef, Stephen’s love for his country is reflected in the menu, which might feature pork and puha, kina with fire pit moi mois, or even partridge barbequed over juniper.
- Closer to home, our very own The Vincent Kitchen, by Cleverchefs, has now celebrated their grand opening and are welcoming diners to their stunning location in Bristol’s Redland district. Open for breakfast throughout the day you can enjoy something light from the lunch menu or join them in the evening where they offer a calm and candlelit environment to enjoy the locally sourced menu being produced in the open kitchen theatre. Book a table with them today.
