At Pegasus Homes, we believe it is important that we continue to empower women to live the life they want to regardless of age. Ageing shouldn’t be seen as negative or something to be scared of, instead, everyone should have the power to feel inspired to do what they wish to and to seek the joy in later living.
"There's a lot to embrace in the later lives in your life", Stella beams, her smile radiating contentment. When choosing her next chapter, she craved a life filled with purpose, free from the burdens of solo homeownership. At Bath Leat, she's found that liberation. Now, her days are hers to design, filled with activities that truly nourish her soul. A weekly swim is a non-negotiable with the purpose to stay fit and active rather than to try and reach an imposed aesthetic.
“I have no worries anymore. I live in a great community”. It’s like staying in a five star hotel and you can join in with whatever you wish to”. - Stella
“I have nothing to prove anymore”
In their later years, our residents describe a significant emotional shift, moving away from the anxieties of youth—the relentless need to meet societal expectations and prove their value. Now, they experience a sense of "lightness," fueled by the confidence that comes with age. They've discovered the freedom to live authentically, with nothing left to prove.
Making the most of every day
Resident Stella is now living on her own but she refuses to let that prevent her from missing out. "I'm on my own, but I want to enjoy it, by looking at things in a fresh and exciting new way". Like many of our residents, Stella has more time to spend on existing hobbies as well as picking up new ones. As a former glass designer, she still enjoys making glass jewellery (and making matching silk scarves!).
