Meet the Lifehost: Lisa Page
13 January 2021
Lifehosts are an integral part of our communities, bringing our homeowners and rental members together to make the most of independent later living.
For this instalment in our ‘Meet the Lifehost’ series, we speak to Lisa Page, Lifehost at our new Wharf Lane community in Bourne End.
Can you tell us a bit about the Wharf Lane community?
Wharf Lane is a spacious community of 21 apartments set around two beautiful, landscaped gardens. Those who have already moved in and living here are very happy and already feel at home which is fantastic to hear and our main aim.
We are expecting more people to join the community this year and cannot wait to welcome them all.
What’s your favourite feature about Wharf Lane?
As Wharf Lane is set away from the road so is very peaceful and quiet, I would have to say the location.
The design of the homes and communal spaces is also quite special, giving a warm and homely feel as soon as you walk in.
One of the special and more unique features at Wharf Lane is the two hedgehog highways in the garden, which helps them travel safely between gardens at night. We also had a hedgehog decoration in the communal lounge at Christmas so as you can see there is a definitely a theme here tying into the local wildlife!
What does a typical day look like for you?
I spend a lot of time with the homeowners which I really enjoy!
So far, I’ve hosted a couple of coffee mornings for the owners at Wharf Lane. For Christmas, we had mulled wine and mince pies and going forward, I will be organising more events like fish and chip Friday’s and cheese and wine evenings.
I also carry out a lot of testing each week, such as testing the fire alarms and making sure the lift works, to ensure everything is as it should be.
What do you enjoy most about living and working in Bourne End?
I love the area, it’s a really nice place to work. I also really enjoy working with people and have always worked in customer facing roles for this reason.
We’re also situated near both the M4 and M40 so it’s really easy to get around.
What are your top tips or recommendations for Bourne End?
Wharf Lane is conveniently located central to everything. The River Thames is right on the doorstep where you can walk for miles in either direction. The town also has a great existing community and there’s lots of independent shops and restaurants to enjoy on a day out.
