Meet the Lifehosts: Dawn Price and Julie Toll

We’ve introduced a new series across our Lifestory family, chatting to the Lifehosts at each of our Pegasus and Renaissance communities.

Today we’re introducing Julie Toll and Dawn Price at our Pegasus Woodlands community in Canford Cliffs.

Hi Dawn, Julie, can you tell us a bit about life at Woodlands?

Woodlands is a great community to be a part of and we always knew it would appeal to those looking to downsize but still wanting to maintain a high level of quality.

What is also interesting is that a couple of our homeowners use Woodlands as a second home, because of how close we are to the coast.

Have you seen an increase in people looking for a home within a strong community?

Lockdown has definitely created a need for community support and outside space, especially for those who were having to shield.

Our homeowners – current and prospective – relish independent living but have also realised that the support and events we can offer are essential to this new way of living that we’re all currently experiencing.

Do you have any top recommendations for Canford Cliffs and the surrounding areas?

The beach plays a big part in all our lives here, whether we’re local born and bred, or have moved to the coast to fulfil a long-held dream. It’s a stunning coastline, full of amazing natural resources to explore as well as offering excellent transport links to surrounding towns and cities. Many of our homeowners are avid travellers and are looking forward to exploring again.

We’ve also got some fantastic restaurants, cafés and bars all around us, catering to everyone’s taste. There is nothing nicer than a stroll along the coast, followed by some much-enjoyed refreshments.

What do you enjoy about living and working here?

We’re both from the local area, so being able to work right on the coast is a dream. No matter the season, Woodlands is a great place to be year-round.

What does a typical day at Woodlands look like?

Every day varies. Sometimes we might be busy with contractors or regular safety checks, others could be filled with social events and helping our homeowners.

Before lockdown, we held regular classes and events such as chair yoga, so we’re looking forward to bringing that back when we can. We’ve also organised socially distanced quiz nights, themed evenings and many a birthday. The variety each day brings is amazing, but it’s all about the people really. We have the most amazing group at Woodlands.

And lastly, what’s your favourite feature at Woodlands?

Woodlands is the epitome of modern luxury, with gorgeous, spacious homes and a fantastic community spirit.
