Enhanced living at Cobham Bowers

Our newest community, Pegasus Cobham Bowers, has been designed to nurture and enhance wellbeing; this is incorporated in the design of the building and amenities, such as the landscaped gardens and social pavilion, as well as in the interior design of the communal spaces and apartments. 

We recently sat down with Jo Love, Director at Love Interiors, who designed the interior spaces at Pegasus Cobham Bowers to find out more about the inspiration behind the design. 

Hi Jo, can you give us an overview of the design and inspiration you took for Pegasus Cobham Bowers? 

All of the apartments we design for Pegasus have the positive intentions and values of later living intertwined into the interior design. We spent a lot of time perfecting the layout experience of the apartments, including the correct proportions and storage. We gently nurture the social spaces and make navigation easy, but we do this within the style of our design. Areas are defined within the apartments, to feel that you are transitioning between your rooms, and that each area feels considered.

Cobham Bowers is situated on the edge of the Surrey Hills and is very close to Painshill Park. I love to bring in the influences and architecture of the local area into the design of each home. The essence of Cobham Bowers is a mix of current style and bright areas, with many practical features and a connection to the local area. All of these are carefully considered to maximise happiness in the home. 

Can you tell us a little more about the interior style of the homes?

There are many connections to nature within the colours and detailing, we use lots of natural materials and modern references. The wooden finish on the floor adds warmth and sits within a light but earthy colour scheme. Within the showhome, you’ll see an abstract painting of nearby Painshill Park on the walls, paying homage to the beautiful green space and architectural references of the park. We used a natural colour palette of  green, lilac, blues and terracotta - with cotton, velvet and linen fabrics. The design is modern, fresh and positive, with the use of plants to help provide cleaner air. Full height doors flood the rooms with light and create a modern feel, and are complemented by various lighting options which help to define areas and create natural spaces. Lighting is designed to highlight your art whilst helping to shape your living experience. Bathrooms and kitchens have been uniquely designed by us for the Pegasus Cobham Bowers community. 

What was your main inspiration for the communal spaces?

The corridors linking the apartments will be painted in a warm stone colour, with a soothing blue used for the front doors. The colour blue has been proven to bring heart rates down and promote feelings of happiness, so it is one of our favourites! In the wider communal spaces we have brought in a beautiful bronze, which is also used on our doors to the apartments. This provides a lovely contrast against the architectural features of the space.

The main social area is a mix of lounge and transitional areas, with a boutique lounge feel. We enhanced the colours from the apartment specification, so that the two designs sit seamlessly together. Individually designed shelving for books and plants further help to shape the areas. The communal lounge also real flexibility for small or larger gatherings. To the rear of the space, overlooking the beautifully landscaped walled garden there is an exercise space which enjoys floor to ceiling glazing maximising on the daylight flooding in. Alot of detail went into the  mix of colours, textures and architecture which we think makes it a wonderful place to live and enjoy.
