Property developer, Lifestory has been granted planning permission to redevelop a site located on Quonians Yard. Currently home to a disused building and car park, the £13.5m redevelopment by Lifestory will create 64 independent living apartments for people over the age of 60 led by their later living brand, Pegasus.
This will be the second Pegasus community in Lichfield, following the award-winning Pegasus Chapter House, located on Monks Close, which was completed in 2016.
The development has been designed by Birmingham based award-winning architects Gould Singleton. The new development will be spread across 3 buildings, over 1.4 acres and will provide a mixture of one and two-bedroom modern and contemporary apartments. The proposed Pegasus Lichfield Bonds will include a communal lounge, social kitchen, patio seating areas and a communal garden.
A number of the apartments will enjoy stunning views across Stowe Pond and the treasured landmark, Lichfield Cathedral.
Mike Gill, Lifestory Regional Managing Director said: “Lifestory has the ambition to create 5,000 homes over the next 5 years. We are delighted that planning permission for the later living community in Lichfield has been granted.
For every community we create we work alongside regional partners in the delivery and collaborate with the local community, keeping them updated throughout the key delivery milestones. We are all looking forward to creating these local links and becoming part of the Lichfield community.”
Formed in 2019, Lifestory was created through the merger of established later living specialists Pegasus and Renaissance with open market housing specialist Anthology. Lifestory has a pipeline of over 2,500 homes across 50 communities in England with a value of over £1.5 billion.
