Spring has sprung in Poole

The first day of spring will officially arrive this year on 20 March where days will welcomingly get warmer and evenings lighter.

The coastal town of Poole, known for its large harbour and sandy beaches, is one of the best spots in the UK to enjoy the spring season. It’s also where you’ll find Sandbanks Road, our perfectly located collection of 32 one- and two-bedroom homes.

Sandbanks Beach

Poole is home to not one but five sandy beaches. Sandbanks Beach, which is located on a small peninsula across Poole Harbour, is one of the most spectacular beaches on the South Coast, with its soft golden sand and sparkling sea. It’s a great location for a day out all year round but particularly in spring when it’s not as crowded as the warmer months. Stroll along the beach and you’ll be able to enjoy beautiful views of Studland and Old Harry Rocks, as well as the Isle of Wight on a clear day.

Brownsea Island

For an adventure filled day out, Brownsea Island is a National Trust site where there’s a wealth of wildlife and nature to discover. Despite its small size, the island has eight priority habitats – lowland heathland, lowland dry acid grassland, wet woodland, reedbeds, saline lagoon, maritime cliff and slope, coastal saltmarsh and coastal vegetated shingle – which allow for a variety of different animals to make Brownsea their home. One of those is the rare red squirrel, more than 200 of which also live on the Island. Boat services from Poole Quay to Brownsea Island will resume from 12 April.

Poole Trail

The Poole Trail is a fun, interactive way for visitors to explore the town at their own pace and learn all sorts of interesting facts about the historic town. There are three trails to choose from – Adventurers’ Trail, Poole’s Story Trail and Museum Trail – each giving a different insight to the history of Poole and what makes it so special. The trails are signposted around the town and can be followed by scanning the QR codes on your phone.
