When retired Company Director Judith Richmond’s husband sadly passed away at the end of last year, she realised that she could no longer stay in the family home but she also knew that she wanted to remain on the property ladder and did not want to give up the security of owning her own home. Enter Renaissance’s beautiful Fleur-de-Lis development in Wantage. Fleur-de-Lis offered Mrs Richmond a new home in the sort of innovative, fresh and luxurious environment she wanted with generous space, high quality finishes, beautifully furnished social areas and landscaped gardens.
Speaking about her move from the family’s four bedroom detached home in the lovely village of East Hanney to her spacious two bedroom apartment in Wantage, Mrs Richmond 74, explained: “We had a beautiful family home and many happy memories but I didn’t want to stay there alone. East Hanney is only a few miles from Wantage so it’s a place I know well. I knew wherever I moved next had to be of a certain quality and I wanted to be somewhere that, being on my own, I could maintain my independence but also have plenty of social activities to dip into.
“I had been looking for about six months and only saw one other property before deciding that Fleur-de-Lis Wantage was the perfect choice for me. It just ticked all my boxes.”
Fleur-de-Lis is in the centre of Wantage so popping to the shops is very easy. The development offered fantastic benefits like the owners drawing room where there are weekly coffee mornings and other events and the concierge who is on site from Monday to Friday.
“I love my apartment. The quality of the finish is excellent, and everything is brand new. The bedroom is beautifully kitted out with fitted wardrobes, the double glazing and insulation is marvellous, it’s so quiet when I’m in my apartment. The shops and social activities are all on my doorstep. We are also extremely lucky to have a wonderful concierge who arranges lots of events which we all enjoy. I certainly feel that this is the best move I could have made, and I enjoy the best of both worlds living here.”
Mrs Richmond was able to take advantage of Renaissance’s complimentary SmoothMove service and support selling her home in East Hanney which helped to make what can be a stressful experience as worry free as possible.
The development, built on the former magistrates' court and Police station on Church Street, comprises 32 one and two bed spacious apartments. The development has been attracting a wide range of interested buyers from the local area and Renaissance has sold 85 per cent of its new independent living apartments in Wantage.
