Enjoying grandeur and green space in a cosmopolitan city setting, this community is a brilliant example of heritage in harmony with contemporary later living. Award-winning architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris have beautifully restored the grand Queen Victoria House, built in 1886, and added two contemporary terraces with complementary light-brick façades. The cascading landscaped gardens and sweeping lawns make for wonderful views, as well as welcome space to enjoy with your neighbours and visitors. Enjoy all of this right beside the open expanse of The Downs, in Bristol’s characterful Redland district, with its distinct villagey feel.
The lounge is a wonderful place to relax privately, or to catch up with friends and neighbours. Stay fit and revitalise in the wellness spa and the gym and stretch studio, and make the most of fine weather and fresh air in the splendid arboretum garden.
The owners’ lounge is like your own very elegant club room. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a board game, a cup of tea, or a glass of wine (depending on your preference!) with neighbours and friends. Regular events are held here - from book groups to film nights, and celebrations throughout the year - all of them tailored to the owners’ tastes and interests. It’s the perfect place for the community to come together.
The arboretum garden is a mixture of hedgerows, pathways and magnificent mature trees, creating an inviting sense of progression as you move through the different areas. The Victorian-inspired stepped landscaping leads down to the lawns and pond, the south terrace and the memorial garden, with its 200-year-old Grade II listed obelisk.
There’s no better way to pamper yourself than with a visit to the on-site spa, with a herbal sauna, steam room and the tranquil hydrotherapy pool. You can further treat yourself to a massage and other beauty and therapeutic treatments in the wellness rooms.
Containing state-of-the-art equipment that’s specially designed to protect older joints, the gym is suitable for all fitness levels and the stretch studio hosts regular yoga classes for everyone from experts to beginners. It’s your space, so you’re welcome to invite your own teacher or personal trainer to help you get the most out of your fitness routine.
Your safety and wellbeing is the on-site team’s primary focus, so every individual member has a talent for making residents feel looked-after and understood. If you have practical issues, a social event to plan, or just want a friendly chat or word of advice: they’re on hand.
All of the one-, two- and three-bedroom homes benefit from tall windows that look out over the grounds or the Bristol skyline beyond. Most have private balconies, with ample space to sit and appreciate the views. Here’s a guide to the apartments that are available to buy at the moment, but circumstances can change at short notice, so contact us if you’re interested in this community.
Life in Bristol
The Vincent is right beside the green expanse of The Downs and at the top of Whiteladies’ Road, with a wealth of interesting boutiques, delicatessens and cafés. Every week there’s a popular farmers’ market where you can pick up everything from fresh meat and fish to locally-crafted ceramics. Nearby Clifton Arcade is another Victorian gem, with more independent shops arrayed along a central walkway that was originally built for horse-drawn carriages. Bristol is a famously cosmopolitan city with so much to do and see, including the Floating Harbour - home to the Arnolfini contemporary art gallery - and the Bristol Science Centre.
On your doorstep
The nearby Whiteladies Road and Redland Road host all the amenities you need, from supermarkets and banks to hairdressers and a medical centre, just half a mile away. Redland station is under a mile away too, taking you to Temple Meads in under 20 minutes, with further train links all over the country. Bristol is so well sited: two hours in different directions and you could be in the depths of Devon, the heart of the Cotswolds, or central London.

"We popped in to get a feel for the place and the General Manager met us in the foyer with a warm welcome; it was amazing. We looked around several apartments and thought wow. One of the apartments we saw, we are actually living in now. Within less than a week of viewing we said yes." Pegasus Homes Resident - The Vincent
"I feel it’s home here and felt this as soon as I moved here. Moving in when I did I got a new lease of life - it has changed my whole expectations frankly. I’ve never regretted it ever." Pegasus Homes Resident - The Vincent
"I didn’t realise there was a place like this - and what made me fall for it was not just the grounds and ambiance, but when I walked into my apartment it was the space and the view I was sold on. I couldn't bear to live anywhere else!" Pegasus Homes Resident - The Vincent
